The sector's recovery : facts & figures
The OHO started its recovery at the beginning of summer 2021. The figures provided by the Food Service Vision team and summed up by Sirhafood showed that in May 2021, the loss of turnover of the catering sector was 1 billion euros lower than in April. This relative performance testifies to a real beginning of recovery despite the fact that between January and May 2021, the catering sector lost 17.6 billion euros in turnover, i.e. more than over the same period of the previous year (14.1 billion euros). It should be noted that delivery was still in good shape, and fast food was reaching new heights with very rapid growth and development which strengthened the performance of big companies. Snacking has also shown an undeniable success, enhanced by the performance of bakeries.
Sirha turns 20
Since March 2020, the industry has had to adapt, change, reinvent itself and always survive. After months of struggle, Sirha, strenghtened by a strict health protocol, today brings together loyal exhibitors, new ones, those who see the show as a chance to meet again. Sirha also celebrates its 20th edition this year and Sirha Food 1st year, the common brand for the events of the GL events food division. A whole new breath was given to shape the return of this global meeting.
First of all, a global media, Sirha Food, to bring you news, updates, podcasts, interviews, behind the scenes and reports throughout the event, also available on the Sirha Food app. A tool, Sirha Connect, the application which will make it possible to bring together exhibitors and professional visitors to Sirha Lyon, to connect them upstream, during and after the show, by offering appointments, instant messaging or even by allowing digital business meetings.
The 2021 Sirha starts this Thursday, September 23rd with a schedule shaped by these ambitions. Some highlights :

Sirha is also a party, where three evening happenings will end the day, and two restaurants, Sirha Cuisine Refuge and Sylvestre, gastronomic and bistronomic concepts brought to life by the Paul Bocuse Institute.
